Welcome
Hello and welcome to my website.
I see portraiture as an opportunity to show the passage of time, to benchmark certain periods and to celebrate achievement.
My paintings, sculpture and photography feature in private collections in Europe, America and Australia and I have undertaken commissioned portraits for King’s College London and Rhodes House in Oxford. Last year, my portrait of Ailsa Fairleigh was selected for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.
My most recent project involves painting people I admire, who truly have a passion for what they do and who in some instances have had a significant impact on my life. The portrait of Bernard Purdie (who played on most of the music I grew up listening to - Aretha Franklin's records in particular) is the first in this series and the portrait of my father, Peter Moorhouse, is the most recent addition. In a sense, I’m aiming at producing a body of work which will turn out to be my own self portrait.
Please feel free to have a good look round and to use the contact form if you wish to discuss any aspect of the commissioning process, or the purchase price of a work for sale.
I hope you enjoy what you see and come back soon.
